This is an X-cat catamaran, 2020 model (ex demonstrator). A fast stable catamaran which can be carried by car. This is the only solid hulled cat that can be transported this way, with the two hulls and three bags on a roof rack. It can therefore be launched anywhere you can get near water. It’s in almost as new condition, having been used perhaps twenty five times or so. It comes with the following extras;
bow net for gear (This very useful and easy to fit being a very cleverly engineered bit of kit)
2 pairs of hiking seats (giving an enclosed feel to the trampoline, good if children are on board)
toe straps
tiller fix
mast head float (this will prevent inversion after a capsize)
launching trolley (A very solid piece of kit)
Purchased new today the whole thing including accessories will cost you £9300 so I think this is a really good deal.
Included is a purpose made roof rack (can be fitted to car with roof rails. Alternatively a roof bar fitting kit can be supplied by the dealer.
It can be assembled in 15 minutes or less, depending on circumstances, see the X-CAT website.
Please note that the electric outboard and the blue cushions shown in some of the photos are NOT included in the sale. The outboard bracket shown has only been designed to take the Thrust Me Kicker electric outboard. A bracket suitable for a conventional outboard can be purchased from the dealer. Also for the discerning viewer, regarding the photos taken on my drive, the boat was assembled for photography, not sailing. The rig has not been tensioned up correctly. When on the water it has. The tensioning mechanism is superb and the mast very easy to put up. The sail is easily rigged as there is no sail track. It’s all beautifully explained in the videos found on the manufacturer website;

There are various other videos on YouTube, I think this one is good

I’ve been a sailor for 45 years and owned all sorts of boats. I was very excited to aquire the X-cat and the sailing I had out of her was fantastic. However I’m forced to sell owing to recent ill health and lack of flexibility (and age!). I had a heart operation last year and have over estimated my condition. I am also very light. With two up the boat is fantastically stable but as I do most of my sailing solo I found that in a stronger wind I was worried about a capsize as I doubt I would be able to right it on my own. I’ve only used it half a dozen times. It’s been kept indoors. There are no faults.
I can deliver, or meet half way, up to a 100 mile range for the price of diesel at 25mpg provided a non returnable deposit of £500 is paid in advance by bank transfer. Please see my 100% EBay feedback, I am a 73 year old retired architect. You can be guaranteed a good buy and an honest and pleasant experience.
There is an opportunity to purchase a set of Rowonair forward facing rowing sculls plus sliding seat etc, also A Thrust Me Kicker electric outboard which propels the boat very well. Both these items to be by separate negotiation.
The UK dealer, Mark Charman, (www.sailx.co.uk) is willing to give any advice required, his number is 07973 800805. Second hand ones like this are very unlikely to come on the market, to date there has never been another so this is more or less a one off opportunity.
