British built wooden speedboat circa 1960. Seats 4 comfortably. Owned by me since 2017, selling due to new boat purchase.
These boats were built in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk and raced in competitions, a Yarecraft even took part in the London to Paris race in the 60s.
I have used her with both a 9.9hp four stroke and a 50hp two stroke.
Used frequently on the Thames and at sea.
Very stable due to the 5ft beam and flat bottom so great for kids.
She sits on a bunked trailer, new to me last year but built in 2003, the trailer was garaged and only saw fresh water 3 times before I bought it. It is in very good condition with new spare and full electric towing board.
The cover is of excellent quality, complete with mooring line flaps for use on the water.
The boat is the Deluxe model meaning the front seats fold flat for sunbathing as demonstrated in the pics.
Original steering wheel with cable and pulley mechanism to the transom. Windscreen is Perspex and as you can see could do with replacement. The surround is chromed brass hull fittings with aluminium rail.
The Speedo is period and in full working order via a Peto tube on the transom.
Comes with the original stainless steel hood frame and sun hood – made by me, a little crude but very functional.
There aren’t many of these left, cold moulded mahogany hull, sheathed in epoxy around 2010. Antifouled to the waterline due to its time on the Thames in Putney before me.
Could do with some attention in places but is a very attractive useable boat as is.
Very close to junction 6 of the M40.
Current Price: £2500.00
