Chaparral 205 sse Sports Cuddy With 1.7 Mercruiser Inboard
2003 Chaparral sports cuddy boat with the rare inboard
diesel engine, making it very economical to run compared to the V8 petrol
option. The transmission is via a Mercruiser Alpha 1 Gen2 outdrive with power
steering, tilt and trim.
She has a new (end of 2017) all over tonnau cover with all
internal and external upholstery being in very good condition, except for some
fading on the back of the rear sun bed, due to the sun and salt water from the
family sitting on it when wet from swimming (can be seen in photo 1)
She has been well serviced with new oil & filters
together with fuel filters etc changed again only 4 weeks ago.
There is a Simrad VHF marine radio, Raymarine colour chart
plotter, New BT/USB Radio Audio player last season with speakers in the cuddy and cockpit. She has 2 bilge pumps, one manual and one electric which is automatic and has a manual override. She also has all the normal powerboat items like horn, nav lights, anchor light, windscreen wiper and bilge blower
Very good holding anchor with plenty of chain and warp to
anchor off those sunny beaches while sunbathing, swimming etc. Good fold down extending boarding ladder to enable
access to/from the swim deck. There is a small sink with area for a 1
burner portable gas ring in the cockpit. good storage below the sink with a water container and electric water pump to feed the fold out tap. There is also good storage each side of the engine bay and below the back to back seats, which also make an additional sun bed.
There is a very expensive (when new) twin axle roller
coaster type trailer, manufactured by Indespension, however the bad bit is the
brakes need attention as they do not work. I am told (don’t know enough about
it) the back plates look good but it needs shoes, adjusters and replacement cables. I can’t confirm this as I don’t work on them. The trailer can be viewed in detail as it is stored local on a hard standing.
The boat is currently in the water and used regularly. Sea trials are available by appointment due
to tidal limitations. However, the
initial trial will be at 8 knot max inside the harbour. If the sale goes
further and a longer trial is wanted a few £ towards fuel would be appreciated
as to go out of the harbour limits for speed trials it is approx. a 40 min
each way from the mooring. Sorry this is necessary to get outside the summer 8 knot harbour restriction.
Note: The small outboard in the pictures is for our dinghy and is not included in the sale, the auxiliary engine bracket is included.
Collection from Kingsbridge in South Devon following cleared funds.
