‘Thistle’ is in need of major restoration. The good photos are
from either eight or fifteen years ago, the bad ones show her current condition. She is a cold
moulded ply all wooden 5 seat 1960s runabout, like a miniature Riva. 16
foot/4.9m long. Very rare I have only ever seen one similar one. Thought to be
made by Yarcraft of Norwich.
4 cylinder Ford 100E sidevalve engine, was running fine 8 years
ago, hasn’t been tried since but I have no reason to think it won’t run. However sold as not running (sorry I don’t have the time to sort her out hence the low price).
Was fully restored in 1992 when the hull was epoxy painted and has
been afloat ever since. Stainless petrol tank was installed in 1992.
No trailer but can tow to nearby public slipway. Collection from
Hole below waterline in bow forward of sealed collision bulkhead
but the boat is still afloat.
Significant rot on decking and varnish worn off.
Rear port cleat damaged (ripped out) and significant subsequent
Speedo driven by cable from alternator – needs new cable but didn’t affect running.
Rot on stern.
The boat needs a lot of attention hence the price.
Boat is advertised on Apollo Duck so may be sold there instead of
Current Price: £499.00
