Classic “Run About” in the style of the Healey or similar
UK/Italian craft, built sometime in the 60 or 70s, the builder is unknown. The
hull is of possibly mahogany or teak ply on a hardwood frame, with “mock” teak
decking. The hull is hand painted with the underwater section recently stripped
and repainted.
Mechanically she may have had originally a BMC or Ford four
cylinder engine, however she has at some time been refitted with a Ford Essex
V6 (Capri/Granada) and Hurth ZF transmission, including transmission and engine
oil coolers. She is raw water cooled via an electric pump and the engine
circulation pump.
She has had fitted new stainless exhaust pipes, new
hydraulic lines to and from the engine and oil coolers. New distributor cap and
ignition cables. New Electric and engine
water pump and the majority of the engine core plugs have been replaced with
stainless ones.
The road trailer is quite old, but solid and recently fitted
with new suspension units and bearings. It comes with a recent spare wheel and
tyre.
Ideally she is suited to flat water and any future owner
ideally needs to be mechanically competent.
On test she achieved 36 knots by GPS, however this was not
in ideal conditions and it is possible 40 knots could be achieved.
