For reluctant sale, due to changing work commitments, is my Cranchi
Start 21 (1993) with the 4.6L V6 Volvo Penta petrol engine and a Volvo Penta DP-C1
duo-prop drive. She is in stunning condition and ready to go for the new
season.
She is moored at a beautiful and friendly marina on Loch Lomond, the finest stretch of water in the UK with 26 miles of stunning Scottish freshwater loch to explore. After your trip out on the water it’s a
2 minute walk to the pub for a coffee or single malt by the log fire!
The cost of the mooring is very reasonable and the marina has all the
facilities you need; CCTV security, shore power, fuel pumps, toilets and
showers, maintenance facilities, ample private parking and a cosy rustic hotel, pub and restaurant all on site.
She also comes with an unbraked (not road legal) launch and recovery trailer so you can take her
out of the water at the end of the season for hull cleaning or maintenance.
The Kevlar reinforced deep V hull is in amazing condition, is waxed and polished regularly and has never seen
anti-foul.
The DP-C1 duo-prop drive is one of the most reliable ever made and, to
give you some idea of the care this boat has been given, is still in its
original paint.
She is a real head-turner with her custom paintwork and everybody
comments how beautiful she looks.
The wraparound tinted screen is all original with no cracks.
All the fittings are chrome and are factory fitted from new by Cranchi ie
bow rails, windlass, cleats, etc.
The fuel tank is a standard stainless steel tank and holds 200 litres of
petrol.
The previous owner stripped the whole interior of the hull bare and laid
two layers of fibreglass with West System epoxy over the entire floor, overlaid
with flexi-teak which should last forever. At the same time the
inside of the cabin, seats and sunbed were relined with tan ostrich vinyl. He also fitted electric blue LEDs to the lower interior that look
amazing at night and Fusion Marine speakers that run from a Sony head unit with Radio, CD, USB and AUX.
Also fitted is a Garmin VHF marine radio flush with the dash and a Garmin
450S GPS plotter linked to a thru hull Garmin transducer for sonar/depth.
Navigation lights, bilge pump, interior LED lights and electric windlass
are all wired in to switches on the dash/cockpit along with dials for speed,
hours, revs, fuel, temperature and battery voltage.
The boat has a forward cuddy with a foam mattress so could sleep two
people but is very small and more useful for storing equipment.
The engine has 385 hrs from new, runs very sweetly indeed and is capable of 43 knots (50mph). The risers/manifolds, water pump and impellor were
changed 3 years ago at 360 hours. She has been diligently serviced and gets new drive oil, engine oil, oil filter and fuel/water
separator every 20 hours.
Recently replaced were spark plugs, distributor cap/rotor, fuel
pump and alternator and there is a spare oil filter and fuel/water separator
that will go with the boat.
The hydraulic rams for the power trim have been recently serviced with new
bellows fitted at the same time. Props are also in great condition.
She has a rear boarding ladder and swim step platform (finished in
flexi-teak) and an auxiliary motor mount bolted to the swim step for a small outboard.
Her cockpit cover was repaired, washed and reproofed by Owen Sails before
the winter and does not leak. She also has a brand new Stormpro trailer cover
(worth £350) for when she is out of the water.
Also included, but requiring refurbishment, is the original bimini cover
(in the original Cranchi bag) with aluminium frame.
Fenders, rope, shore power cables with 3 pin adapter, engine bay tube heater,
battery charger and two lifejackets are all included – plus lots of other bits and
bobs.
