The Boat
This Fletcher Black Max Package boat 14ft (so it can fit in a garage), and is happy as river use or sea use, and is extremely capable in rough sea due to the Fletcher Deep V Hull, (especially compared to Picton and other makes, that have a very shallow hulls) this model was very well built, and these are extremely strong hulls. It has never been beached and the underneath is compliment to that. This is a very clean overall package for the year and can not be compared to lesser examples. Please note, this is not a painted effort of a boat, the Gel coat is original, and unpainted, as any boat should be. Never ever buy a painted fibreglass boat that is potentially hiding faults.
She can comfortably have 4 people on board.
The rear has a removable Ski Pole, that was an extremely expensive extra when this was new.
There is also a cover, that is really useful for outside storage.
She comes with a bow tank but can also use an external tank if you wish.

The Engine/Heart of any boat
The engine in any boat is a critical factor of any boat purchase, get it wrong and you can be left stranded at sea with a big repair bill, remember there is no AA Service at sea, and you can’t push a boat home.
Engine choice, there are two types of boat engine, Outboard and Inboard engines. Outboard engines are far more reliable and cost effective than inboard engines, hence why in the US most boats up to 40ft are now outboard powered.
This engine has been fantastically reliable for us, and can get this boat on the plane effortlessly being a powerful, 60hp Mercury Oil injected Engine that has been regularly serviced from day 1 and it shows. Being a 60hp the power to weight and economy ratio is spot on, any bigger and the boat doesn’t handle as well, also the fuel economy goes down the tubes, and the reason i know this, is because i tried a 75hp engine on this very boat, and it handled like a bus, and used fuel like one. Any smaller and really you are under powered, especially if you are towing toys etc. The gearchange from forward or reverse goes in lovely, with no crunching or snatching like a lot of outboard engines do.
Just put fuel in, take her out, hold on and instant grin factor acheived.
Trailer
The trailer is a Factory Built, Galvanised Indespension roller trailer, and is easy to use for launching and recovery, and tows really well on the back of our car. The winch is a two gear type, so winching the boat back on after the weekend, a lot easier.

its worth noting that these boats were so successful in the day, Fletcher have just re-started making these again and they can be bought new costing £24500
Weather you are new to boating, or an old Sea dog, the new owner will have a great package ready to go and enjoy with friends family or who ever, weather you want to pootle up and down, the Norfolk broads, blast around the Isle of Wight or use as a Ski Boat. This package can be on a pontoon in a Marina or would be a happy as a Trailer Sailor towed on the back of your car around the UK, and is capable of bringing many years of joy.
Apologies for my long winded explanation, but after 40 years of boating and getting caught out with the cheap lemons, and learning from many mistakes, (yes i have had trailers collapse on me, engines conk out 2 miles from land, painted hulls split bla bla bla) i feel that the new owner will get a very sorted package.
