Fletcher Arrowflyte
speed boat with 70HP Standard Johnson outboard, trailer and doughnut package ready for the summer.
I have owned and owned and cared for my Fletcher Arrowflyte over the last 12 years
and it is a good handling and fun
speedboat which has been used for family outings and water-sking.
It has had a refurbishment
3 years ago and has only been used a few
times since then, hence it is reluctantly up for sale as I don’t have the time
to use it.
It is powered by a bog standard 1979 Johnson 70hp 3 cylinder two stroke engine (which
makes it a fun boat ). I know the engine
cover says racing on it, but it was
painted by myself in a refurbishment as the original decals were missing.
The engine starts easily and runs well and has good compression, on my gauge each cylinder showed (135Psi)
The water cooling
tell tail give a really strong
jet of water (impellor was changed 2 years ago)
The engine is always flushed with fresh water after every use.
It is fitted with a four bladed propeller with adjustable
pitch (adjusted by an allen key) giving the optimum setting for your
activities.
On collection it can be demonstrated running in a water tank
if required.
The wooden floor on
this boat has been replaced and new seats were fitted at the time which can be adjusted for leg room and also rotate to
face backwards.
The transom (where
the engine is mounted) on this boat has extra bracing and the wooden core has no rot as It was replaced 3 years
ago in 2x 18mm Marine ply . (this is a
common problem where the original core absorbs water and rots over time making a weak engine mount)
The hull does have a few age-related wear marks and a few
gel coat marks.

It comes with an un-braked
galvanised trailer which is painted blue which is in very good condition
and complete with lighting board. The wheel bearings and hubs were replace 3years ago and have had little use. Trailer tyres have 5mm tread depth. There are few bits of paint flaking on the mud guards, but cosmetic
only.
I have towed this boat for hundreds of miles behind an average
car and it handles really well and the boat is easy to launch and recover.
